Final Advert

What research did you do?

As a group we looked at different adverts that are already out there and are gaining the attention of the general public. We looked at how they use their adverts to promote a product and what structures and props they use to create a final advert. Gathering all this information we created a unique advert which was different, imaginative and new and thats what we wanted to portray.

How well did you work as a group?

As a group we pulled through in the end. I had my usual partner from last year who was Marian. Me and her have that same creative spark which we knew we could implement to create another video. This time round we had the great mind of Samsia who gave us a whole lot of input plus her ideas really helped us in creating our final video. Neepa was a late addition to our group but she made her mark and came through to become a really good team member.

How effective was your planning?

It was good but there were some aspects of the planning we could have improved. This could have been meeting with the actors so we could finish our advert the way we intended it to finish. We also could have communicated more to make sure things were done and if not when we could have it done by. This affected our time management causing us to fall behind a few times.

Did you communicate your brand and product clearly to the audience?

Prices of the clothes are clearly shown in the video plus the logo of the company has been displayed at both the start and the end of the advert. This makes the audience aware of the prices plus the brand identity is recognised by the audience we are trying to  promote our idea to.

What were peoples reaction?

Does your advert meet the brief?

The brief had told us that we had to create a advert which was suitable for 16-23 year olds which had to be aimed at a new fashion chain who sell a variety of clothing. We had done this and gave it the modern more edgy look to it. The black and white is the new trend which is why we had created a monochrome video.

Technically, how effective is your advert?

Technically, the imagery and the colour of the video is very unique and it is a different idea compared to the advert's that are already out there. The black and white colour describes the use of less emotion in the video to portray only the clothes. The clothes are the main factor which is why the use of colour would mean you are drawn away from the clothes.

What would you have changed?

Next time round we could improve on the lighting on the male part and have a better background. You could see the creases in the background on the males part and this really lets down the scene. Plus we could have organised times for both male and female so we could complete the advert properly and add more scenes. Altogether the video is looking great but there could be more minor changes we could make.
